Three centuries of opera
The Game Master proudly presents
an intriguing boardgame, that takes
the players on a journey through
three centuries of opera. Opera leads
you trough the periods of Baroque,
Classicism and Romance, revolving
around the famous music of Händel,
Monteverdi, Mozart, Beethoven,
Wagner and Verdi.
Unique game experience
The players are leading members of
aristocratic families, who dedicate
themselves to encourage a finer taste
in opera in six leading European
cities. The Opera game is unique on
several points. The sequence of play
is decided by the players, through a
delicate system of bidding, budgeting
and decision making. The initiative of
the players, the fame of the composers
and the timing of the different
characters have a subtle but decisive
role in Opera.
Gameplay
In Opera the boardgame, the players influence the playing sequence. At the start of each round, the players choose how much they are willing to spend to hire the employees and characters. The player with the highest bid chooses the first role. The Impresario scouts for music pieces of the most famous composers. By inviting the Maestro to the city, you will add more grandeur to the performances in your opera house. The Critico gives a relentless judgment on the operas he visits. He has a major influence on the fame of the composers. These roles are the core of the game, together with the Architetto, the Signora and the Esperto.
Relive the grandeur of the opera in
